Manual Lymphatic Drainage

REVITALIZE YOUR HEALTH

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized, gentle touch therapy designed to stimulate the movement of lymph fluids throughout the body, aiding in the removal of waste and toxins from tissues. This therapy is particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from conditions such as edema, chronic inflammation, acne, and post-surgical swelling. MLD can significantly enhance your body’s healing process, alleviate pain, and reduce swelling, making it an essential treatment for those recovering from surgery or dealing with chronic health issues. By incorporating MLD into your healthcare routine, you can experience improved health and well-being.

Unlock Healing

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a very soft, gentle touch therapy that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in your lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from bodily tissues. Unfortunately, injuries, surgeries, autoimmune diseases, and other health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up, resulting in tissue swelling, skin discoloration, and pain or weakness in your body. MLD can benefit your body by helping to relieve swelling and improve your overall health.

MLD is great for a number of conditions caused by inflammation:

Edema & Lymphedema
Chronic inflammation
Acne/rosacea
Scar Healing & Fibrosis Prevention
Post-surgical inflammation
Pain relief
Fibromyalgia
Rheumatoid arthritis
Post-Covid Syndrome/Long Covid
Lupus
Chronic venous insufficiency
Vericose Veins

Relating to trauma, MLD has shown promise in managing pain and stiffness related to autoimmune diseases which may be a result of trauma such as:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Scleroderma

Manual lymphatic drainage has also been shown to decrease your sympathetic nervous system’s “fight or flight” response.

Post-Surgical

Lymphatic Drainage

During surgery, your body is exposed to a variety of physical abuse – in your joints, muscles and tissues. Because of this most people feel stiff, have limited mobility and range of motion, and swelling. This can be painful as your body is going through a healing process. And, depending on your condition, age and extent of the surgery, recovery can range from mild to pretty intensive.

Post-surgical manual lymphatic drainage helps to speed recovery and reduce or eliminate pain or inflammation that occur after surgery (especially with cosmetic surgeries). It can play an important role in your post-operative care.

Depending on your condition, your doctor may approve MLD within a few days after your surgery. Most patients will need sessions 2 to 3 times a week for the first few weeks to help reduce inflammation, bruising and overall pain associated with their surgical procedure. After about a month we can begin scar tissue and fibrosis mobilization including manual techniques and adjunct therapies (cupping, gua sha, skin rolling, etc.).
